3 Ways to Workout Successfully from Home!

Working out from home has so many incredible benefits but there are a few things that we can do to eliminate distractions, making sure that we do actually workout rather than just start cleaning the home or grabbing a coffee and watching the latest episode of our fav Netflix series.

1) The space where you workout needs to encourage you to do so! Decide now where you can workout in your home. When following our Barre or Yoga workouts, you only need space for the length of your mat, no need to dedicate a whole room to working out! However, your equipment does need to stay there at all times, so that you know where everything is and it’s easily reachable. Also, make sure it’s in view - when we walk passed our workout set-up often, it will encourage you to do it more often.

2) Plan ahead and and pop your workouts in your diary! You may already know that we offer a weekly workout schedule within the SAIB membership - find more info here!

That’s all you need to do is log in to your account or press the link from your e-mail on a Sunday and you’ll see all your workouts there and ready for you to pop in your diary.

If you can’t make every one then decide on a schedule that works for you, for example - Monday / Wednesday / Friday. As well as popping your workouts in your diary so you know exactly what you’re doing when, make sure your workout clothes are also out and ready to go the night before to eliminate any excuses. Worst case scenario, just follow a class in your PJs!

3) Create a solid routine. This may sound similar to the above point but what I mean here is, try and create a solid morning routine or evening routine or both! Be as specific as you can about what time you’re going to workout / meditate and how many times a week you’d like to dedicate to this.

An example here could be;

Monday 7am - Water & Lemon & 20 Minutes Yoga Class

10pm - 5 Minute meditation before bed

Wednesday 7am - Wate & Lemon & 15 Minute Barre Class

10pm - 5 Minute meditation before bed

Friday 7am - Water & Lemon & 20 Minute Yoga Class

10pm - 5 Minute meditation before bed

Creating a solid routine like this means you’re more likely to stick to it and it also means you’re creating a solid foundation of healthy habits.

P.S Please Remember - NOBODY (not even me!) enjoys getting up earlier to make their water and lemon and workout! It’s not the first thing that comes to mind when I think of the best morning ever but honestly, after you’ve finished your class it will be your best morning ever and the benefits of working out and looking after yourself in this way will make you so proud, so confident, so happy - you will commit to it, no matter what!
